I have a 860 that was converted to lp gas long before I bought it. It has started to run hot under a medium to heavy pulling load. My questions are. What thermostat temprature should be put in it. and what other problems might be developing here. It has a new water pump and new aftermarket radiator that was installed a couple years ago and has always run at normal temprature. Thanks

My manual says that the gas and LP tractors use the same thermostat. It should start to open at 157° to 162° F and should be fully open at 177° to 182° F. Take it out and check it in a pot of water on the stove while your wife is at the mall.

Other things that may make it over heat.

Radiator hoses coming apart on inside and blocking water flow. (with thermostat out replace housing and make sure you have good water flow. Look in top of radiator while running to check)

Bad Head gasket or cracked head leaking compressed gasses into water system. (check for air bubbles in radiator while running)
