I was wondering about 2 things:

1) I am rebuilding a 1957 860. It has no front bumper. I haved researched pictures. Some have them...some don't. Did the originals all have front bumpers? I am assuming they did. They look like they bolt through the front ax.

2) Does anyone know of a good place to order sheet metal parts, cowling, fenders, etc., or is it just a New Holland thing?

Thanks, Dean

Try searching for those out of the way tractor bone yards. I found one in the Missouri Ozarks that just has a ton of old Ford parts. I am also restoring an 861 and have purchased an original nose cone, grille assembly, lower cowling, original head/tail/work lights, and running boards with toolbox. The total cost was less than $100 and everything was in pristine condition. There are still places like this scattered around the country. You just have to look. Best of luck!

Dean, I bought all of the sheet metal for my 850 and 860 from Mikes tractor www.mikestractors.com
the prices are fair and it ships quickly. Also I unhid my e-mail if you want to e-mail me I will send you some before and after photos of both tractors. Where in New York are you? I am in Orange county. Dave

The bumper does bolt onto the front axle. It was sold as an accessory item like the deluxe seat, remote hand valve, light package, etc.

Your best bet for sheet metal will be a tractor salvage yard. The link below will direct you to one in most states.
