I replaced the cam follower pin on my 860 yesterday because the lift would only go up half way. Now it still only goes up half, but if I push down on the selector lever to choose draft or impliment control the lift goes up all of the way even with the touch control lever all of the way down. ANy help as always is greatly apprecciated. Dave

Dave did you make the adjustments that are outlined in the manual, including the main control spring?

I forgot to mention I did try to make the adjustments but I don't have the gauge that the book shows so I tried to do it by eye, judging by what I saw in the book.

Do a search for "Zane" he sells a video and a kit that includes the gauges (I made mine with grinder, file, micrometer and steel bar). I also welded up a jig to hold the lift arm in position, as you can tell I have more time than sense. I believe the Zane kit is about $40.00

Thats nearly impossible to do without the guage block and arm setting fixture.
If you take it back off before reinstalling it, clamp it in a vise on a heavy workbench. Then apply compressed air to the oil inlet hole on the underside edge. Using the compressed air you can tell how the lift will respond to the control lever movement. This way you can be sure it will fully raise before reinstalling on the tractor. You have toeither have a remote valve or the cover plate installed on the lift cover for this to work.
