I am purchasing a Ford 7000 with 2 sets of remote hydrolics. A friend said the 2nd set of outlets are for a "load monitor". Can anyone tell me what this is and if the 2nd set can be used for normal hydrolic uses?

Thanks

If it truly is a load monitor, it will have 3 sets of outlets. The load monitor was used for plowing and it took a special cylinder. You Probably have dual outlets that work great for a loader. Best of luck, Ron

If both of the outlets are normal outlets, how do I run the second set because the tractor only has 1 lever for controling outlets.

Thanks,
Ray

You only have 1 set of normal outlets then.

Bet there is a round contorl knob, or something to pull out, to 'phase' the load monitor cylinder with the 3-point. You might not want to mess with that knob, it is possible to hurt things if you pull it at the wrong time. (According to the manual of my 7700 anyhow.)

The load monitor works mostly with 2-point (semi-mount) plows. Without using it, you set the front of the plow with the 3-point lever, and the back of the plow with the hyd lever.

With the special cylinder, you can set up the load monitor to operate the plow with only the 3-point lever. It will delay, & drop the rear cylinder when you drop the front of the plow, and again at the other end it will dely, then raise the rear of the plow when you pull up the 3-point lever.

Aslo, if you slightly raise or lower the 3-point lever, it will also slightly raise or lower the rear of the plow, keeping it level. (This part works better with some plows than others.)

I'm sure the idea works with other stuff, but a semi-mounted plow is the only thing it was used for around here.

Thanks for the information. I understand now. If I wanted to put a loader on the tractor, would I have to use the 1 remote I have, or is there some other outlet I could use for a loader.

Thanks again Paul,
Ray

The tractor has load monitor. One set of couplers are dedicated to the system. There should be a cylinder that is with the tractor. It has a dual function. If the cylinder end is turned one way it is a std. cylinder, turned the other it is a load monitor cylinder. Using it that way it can operate a pill type implement. It needs to be phased to use this way.A single one way ram can be used off of the system, but would be operated off the 3 pt. lever. Hope this helps without being confusing.

What does the load monitor cylinder do for you?

Thanks for the info. There is no cylinder with the tractor, so I guess I don't have to worry about using this function. By the way, what is a pill implement?

thanks,
Ray

He meant pull type implement. Pulled from the tractor's drawbar, as opposed to attached to the 3pt hitch.
