Will old bumper fit wider 801?

My 801 is wider at the sheet metal below the grill. This is unique to 801s compared to Jubilees and 600-601s and 800s. It makes for narrow clearance between the so-called original style bumper for 8Ns and Jubilees. Do these bumpers rub or dent the sheet metal when used on an 801? Thanks, Mik

I put one of these bumpers on my 861, and yes it did just hit the lower panel on the outside ends when the axle pivots to it's extreme travel. I had to bend only the outer bars of the bumper outside the vertical bars just a bit to make it clear. Other than that it fit great and looks better than the large bumpers you normally see on these tractors. My opinion only. Good Luck!

This is new to me. The 801 being wider at the dog legs than a 601 etc. I thought they were the same.

I think the bumper will work off any Ford tractor from 39 through about70 something. Be it an English or American built.

Zane--The 801 is different with extra superficial horizontal cladding below the dog legs. All the old bumpers will bolt on, just as with the 8Ns and Jubiless. Trouble is when you cross a furrow-like obstruction, the axle and bumper frame will pivot upward and might dent the cladding. So I'm wondering if there is enough clearance or, as it looks to me, not quite enough for full axle pivot. Mike. (Want to get it looking as good as 660)

I remembe the outer decorations on the 801 dog legs now and I still think that the standard bumper will fit it. It might hit the trim if the center pin bushing is bad andloose or the hole is wallowed out or the bumper is bent sideways but I sold parts at a Ford tractor dealership and never had but one bumper to fit them all.
