I recently purchased a Ford model 1821 Industrial Diesel tractor with a loader and backhoe. It runs and operates well and I have most of the parts to it. I would however like to restore it, and there are a few things that need repair. I beleive it was built in 1958 or 1959, and is the first in Fords Industrial line. I've not found much information about this model. My local Ford/New Holland dealer has told me many parts are now no longer available. If anyone has any information about this model, particularly the power steering unit, I would appreciate your input. Thanks!

Arne,
Sounds like we have the same unit and the same problems- My 1821 original steering is out and I am looking to restore and replace. The guy I bought by Ford from put in a makeshift steering that you use a lever that you push back and forth. I would appreciate information that you have found if you don't mind passing it on. Have you been able to find out the year of yours from the serial #- I have been trying and only know 1958 to 1959 also.

Tony,
I purchesed an 1811 industrial last year and I have been restoreing it. I have come across a steering problem during my restortion. The steering cylinder was cracked on the barrel. Suspect that water entered the into the fluid and froze. Had the cylinder costly rebuilt. Now the actuator cable easily slips on the gear in the steering column. Any suggestions.
