I'm still looking to date my tractor

After doing more investigation I've discover the following
1. Tractor ser # plate at dash is missing 2. engine block ser. # SC9348E
3. casting on diff below seat # 11101
4. air intake is mounted on dash
5. 2 hood latches below dash
6. aluminum transmision housing
7. oil filter external on left side of block
8. 4 speed transmission
9. it has Lucas electric coil and starter
10. Zenith carb
does this tell me I have a TEA 20 and what year would it be?
I need to order a manual but want to be clear on which model I have.
Thanks for the help
I will see if I can post some images later.

New to this forum but have to say thanks for the above information. I'll have to go home and do some looking on my tractor now.

than I did for the 8N we fixed up last year. The Ferguson we found is in very good shape, all metal work complete with no rust thru just surface rust and all other parts complete. We have yet to fire it up as we just got it last week. Also any good links to info would help

The little "send e-mail" button is active. Click on it and drop me a line. That way we do not need to post addresses on the open forum.

From your description you have a 12volt TEA, certainly the engine is a TEA 85mm from the number. The date you give from the casting is 11th October 1951, that was the date the housing was cast, it would be used in production within about four weeks of that date. The specification is typical TEA20.

Deffently a TEA-20. I just baought one last Friday. I will defer to Bob that it has the 85mm bores. The difference in the TEA-20 (80 and 85) is the piston diameter.

Please e-mail me on the side and I may have some more info you.

You have a Ferguson TEA20-85 with Standard Motor Company engine (85 mm bore), built in the UK.
The diff housing was cast on 11 October 1951 so the tractor date of manufacture is probably early November 1951.

The serial number is probably somewhere around TEA200000 to TEA230000.

Youu definetly have a TEA-20 because of the Al transmission housing and the external oil filter on the leftside and the Lucas electrics. I think John(UK) or Jeff(OH)can help you with the year.
