STORING MY FERGUSON FOR THE WINTER, I DRAINED THE OIL AND DISCOVERED COOLANT IN THE OIL. HOW MUCH TROUBLE AM I IN AND WOULD THIS BE A HEAD GASKET LEAK?

I agree, probably crack between cylinders at bottom, most of these haven't had new sleeves for ages and the old rubber seal rings deteriorate after time. Best to replace with new sleeve kit this will usually solve problem. As for the cracks they seldom cause a problem with new rubber seals and sleeves in place. Top crack between cylinder has never caused me any problems. Some guys have block welded, but I've never found it necessary. Crack is usually caused by overheating, and most of these old tractors need a new raditor to correct restricted water flow. I haven't had much luck having the old radiator cleaned, they are usually to far gone for that process to help much.

there are about 3 ways to get coolant into the crankcase oil.
1) bad head gasket
2) leaky rubber O-ring seals at the bottom of your cylinder sleeves
3)cracked block
Hard to say which one is your problem. A head gasket is a good afternoon job & ~$50 or so. Rubber O-rings are a bit bigger job, maybe an all dayer, but not much more money. Cracked block varies on where the cracks are, if they are on top, not the end of the world, cracks across the bottom are a big deal. If you also have oil in the radiator fluid, that most likely is a head gasket. Other than that, only way to tell is to pull the head & oil pan and look for signs of leakage or damage. One thing you can do is leave the oil plug out, keep your coolant level full & let your TO sit undisturbed for several days to see if you get any more coolant dripping out of the engine. If you do, drop the oil pan & look for green drops on the bottom of the block to ID where it is coming thru.
