My father-in-law in Atlanta has a four cyclinder Ferguson from the 1950's that is for sale. Where is the ID plate located? The last patent date on the plate in front of the steering wheel is June 6, 1950. He plans to sell it. It will run and has a 30" scoop on the rear. Someone is the Atlanta area can pick up a bargain or I am in middle-Tennessee and can transport it here, if necessary.

James....on that same plate by the steering wheel will be a tractor serial number. if you could post that number here we'll tell you what year it is and what you have. there are some people on this post that might be interested in your tractor...me being one of them. you say.."it will run" does that mean it's running now? what kind of shape would you describe it being in? how are the tires and wheels? how much rust is on it? what color is it? thanks...

Mike. Thanks for the help. At the top of the tag was some paint like you said. I will see about getting the number. It is a tractor that was cranked up last time some five years ago according to my father-in-law. In fact, it could have been longer. The tires were still up. It was converted to 12 volt with an alternator many years ago. It has been in the dry with no unusual rust problems that I remember. It has the 30" scoop on the rear. It is located in McDonough, Georgia, just south of Atlanta. I can get pictures in a few weeks. Anyone interested can reply to me at jimmypriestley@hotmail.com. I am in McMinnville, Tn.

james...that serial number will probably be at the very top of that tag above the steering wheel. it will probably also be prefixed by a couple letters...(ex.) TO-12345. sometimes these tags get painted over and the serial numbers can be hard to see because they are stamped in the tag and get filled with paint.

by the way, i'm in west tenn just west of the tenn river...where are you? i know a couple other "fergie guys" in your area, they get on this forum also. let us know what you have.
