Hi all,
I have put the no. 30 loader on my 1943 Farmall H. The loader is run off the belly pump. The loader seems to work alright, except it does not go high enough and does not lift much because I need to hook up the large oil resivor. My question is how do I hook up the hoses on the large oil tank to the belly pump? I have no idea where the hoses from the tank should be on the tractor. I looked at Janicholson's hydraulic diagrams, but did not see a diagram on how to hook up a resivor tank to the belly pump. If someone could help me on how to hook up a oil resivor to the belly pump, I'd appreciate it!! This loader came off a 1946 H that my Dad bought on eBay, this loader was run on a M&W live pump before, but now it will run off the belly pump. The way the loader is in the picture is the highest it will lift.

Thanks,
Andy.

Andy,
According to the book, you put loader and piping on, fill resorvoir, raise loader about 5 feet off the ground, the refill resorvoir, then you should be good to go. By doing this way, you fill both cylinders, because, as others have said, the front of the cylinders are the oil resoroir.

I had one just like that. As Chuck said, you don't need a reservoir at all if the top ends of the cylinders are plumbed directly to the belly pump filler tube.

When the loader is lowered the oil overflows from the belly pump into the top of the cylinders; and when you raise the loader the oil is pushed out of the top of the cylinder back into the belly pump so it can be pumped into the lower end of the cylinders.

I agree, I have run mine for about 12 years with the H belly pump. no res. You must do like they say and plum the ends of the cyl toward the bucket to the fill of the pump. You may have bad seals in the cyl. I had problems and thought it was my pump rebuilt it 3 times before I took the cyl's apart and found a ripped seal. the guy at the hyd shop made 2 pucks and replaced the old fiber seals with neoprene or what ever. the pucks were needed to push on the new seals. cost me $30.00 a cyl for pucks , seals, and everything works great now. Andy,
I did what Chuck46 did as far as plumbing goes.I used a gas starter tank from a distilate model.I hooked that directly to the fill on the top of the belly pump.It works fine and looks pretty stock.Try and find a cap with a diesel bleeder valve for pressure release.Hope this helps.

Andy, You do not need the extra resevoir, the cylinders on the loader are the resevoir. All you need to do is remove dipstick, put a pipe union on the belly pump fill pipe, then a short nipple, a reducing tee facing sideways, " by that I mean a tee which has one 3/4 port and two 1/2 ports" then nipples long enough to get out to the edge off gas tank, an elbow on each and then hoses to the ports to the front of the cylinders. Set the loader on the ground, fill resevoir and both cylinders with oil, close it all up and it is ready to go. Good luck, Chuck
