Hi all. I"m taking the loader off the H and was wondering how hard it would be to put quick connects on the engine in place of plugging the hydraulic ends with pipe plugs? Someone on the site gave me the idea, but I don"t know how difficult it would be? Thanks again, as always!

If you're using the belly pump for hydraulics, the fittings are all standard pipe thread, NPT. This is the most common type.

I believe the size is 1/2" NPT. It might be 3/4", but 1/2" is the most common for tractor hydraulics. All you need is a pair of Pioneer hydraulic couplers (male and female sets, one for each connection to the tractor), and maybe a couple of short male-male adapters. Simply thread the female end on to the elbow that comes out of the tractor, and the male end on the hose to the hydraulic cylinder.

are you talking about putting a quick connect on the pump outlet and inlet lines ? I don't think that will work very well as I believe the pump would self destruct rapidly with the inlet and outlet blocked off.

I was planning on using them for both the input and output lines. The belly pump is controlled with a rod, and I figured as long as it wasn"t engaged, it should work ok. Is that right, or would it self-destruct as one of the persons on here said?

That won't cause any problems because you're plugging the outlets.

The concern is plugging the lines to the pump itself, which is impossible to do on a belly pump system.

Not knowing the thread type, you simply buy the disconnects along with matching ends on your hoses, and find some sort of an adaptor if they don't screw directly in. Quick disconnects aren't necessary unless you are continually installing and removing the loader. But, do as you please.
