This is a picture from 1961 IH parts book. It is showing the improvement package that IH came up with to replace the ratchet tooth throttle plate.

We have at least one of all three types on our h and m tractors. The NOTCH style definatly is an improvement over the sawtooth, but they eventually wear out as well. I have to agree that the aftermarket friction ones are the best of the three.

Yep, for a tractor that is seeing actual use, the friction throttle works best for me.

Interesting pictures, I have 2 H's one with the old type saw tooth and the other with the friction type. I like the friction type better. ED
