I called the salvage yard to make sure the new tires I was getting had been pulled and were ready. Well, those tires were filled with rubber, and can't be pulled from the rims. Since they are on ford rims, they aren't something I can use.
CRAP!!!! Now I've got to figure out what to do.

Sell some of those As and Hs in your AH and you would have enough to buy new tires!!!
They do represent Farmalls, don't they?

I got two kids, and a baby on the way, and the Navy pays me in peanuts. I'm scraping together pennys for tractor money.

That's why.

Don't worry, Mike, many of us are in that type of situation. I only have one child, but with prices spiraling out of control we are all feeling the pinch.

It will all fall together one day.

Ask tire shops about any narrow 16" tires. If it's anything like the tires shops here in AZ, they should have some stacks of so called "take-offs" that were changed just because the owner wanted a different type of tire. Good tread and usually I can get them for $15 or less.

There is no incentive for your question to be answered by a tire store. The method is to go there and ask for pulloffs from a saturn or any vehicle equipped with 185-16 tires. They will (likely) give them to you. They may have you go and find them in the cage/truck in back. Do it. This is just too easy to make happen. If you ask for 6:00 16 tires, they will say no we have no used ones (they do not it is an obsolete designation with a chance in blue million of happening (and two blue million if you only ask one dealer) This can happen in 15 minutes if you go in with conviction not to be told no. They will be used "off road" on a farm. you will sign a document to that effect. Do it. JimN

Are you asking for TRACTOR tires? If so, then yeah.... Buttttt , you can't tell me that none of the local tire shops have changed a single solitary 16" tire in the last 6 months.

It doesn't have to be a tri-rib tractor tire, it just has to hold air for now... Right?

You'll just have to get a Ford tractor.
