Having no luck getting a replacement shaft for the distributor on my MD. It has a hydraulic pump mounted on it and I posted a picture on 3/10. Everybody says because its a verticle distributor it has to be a Delco however it has the IH part number cast in the side and the local salvage yard where I got the gear for the bottom said it was an IH shaft. Everything except the gear on the end looks like the parts breakdown on CNH website. Is it possible to put Delco guts in and IH distributor?

i may have a vertical delco in the barn somewhere, out of a gas m. i'll see if it looks like the i-h distributor. i would think they are pretty close. have you tried bates corporation in bourbon indiana for a distributor? they are a large i-h salvage yard and have rebuilt parts too.

I just talked to Bates this afternoon which prompted the post. The number cast into the distributor is 353898R1. The gear I got came off an Allis WD45 Delco and is identical to the worn one.
