will run for about 40 seconds and stop return line is not plug have fuel to pump and injectors bleed all the air out of lines

Are you SURE that fuel flow from the tank is adequate when the engine quits? This sounds a lot like fuel starvation---I'm guessing that you have replaced fuel filter---so--- check for an intermittent plug in the fuel tank. Happened on the 560D---a piece of corn stalk tassel would lodge in the tank outlet & block fuel delivery---neighbor had a jd95 combine which had a wasp rear-end doing the same thing. We had to remove the tank on the 560 to get all the goodies out. It had several corn tassels plus other stuff in there. Ran perfectly after cleaning.

Sound like you have a 'O' ring in injection pumpgoveror that won't allow rack to open,often happens with RoosaMaster/Stanadyne pumps.This was a common complaint over the years with that series,careful with those back-to back seals on pump drive shaft.
