Has anyone ever done it? Is it worth it? What kind of gains were made? Which parts were used and what other mods were done?

Just curious!

Joe

I have a complete set up. Manifold, turbo, both oil lines and intake plumbing for a 560 with 282 engine ,which is the same as yours. E-mail me if interested.

Joe: Those engines are 40 years old, you can get all the hp it will stand without the turbo. At one time I had my 560 cranking over 100 hp without a turbo. We backed it off to 90 and ran it that way for 11,000 hours. I never had any head problems either, those just happened to the guys that wouldn't let them cool down slowly. I put 11,000 hours on 560 and 15,000 on a 656, both went 10,000 hours on their original sleeves.

Salvage yard one off a IH 706 d is the same kit.You might try Red Oak diesel clinic 712 623 2221 they were dealers for M&W and have most of the parts yet.It wouldn't be to hard to make either theirs not that much to that kit.

I had a 656 diesel that I put a M&W turbo kit on.I gained 20 hp after I set the pump a little. If you go to high in HP you will crack the head and burn between the exhaust valves.Mine was a good running tractor had 5600hr when I traded for a 1086.
