I already posted this, but for some reason it isn't showing up in the "modern view" so here goes again.

I lied before when I said I had no more questions. I got the new seals and o-rings today and I cannot figure out where this last o-ring goes. When I took it apart, I'm almost positive mine didn't have this o-ring in it, but the exploded parts view shows it so I ordered it. Its a small o-ring, #11 in this image. Where does it go? I can't find a groove on the shaft and it doesn't seem like it would fit over the shaft anyway. Only place I can get it to go on is the very end of the shaft where it is squared to accept the injection pump. Thanks again guys! You've been a big help so far.

You didnt happen to flip one of the cup seals number 4 in the picture when you sliped the pump on that can cause it to leak back. They face oposite to each other.

Exactly. My engine serial number is 37073, so I should have the oring. No body has been able to tell me where it goes and when I took mine apart it didn't have it. So I put it back together without it and I still have the fuel leak into the crankcase. It could all be related to this o-ring.

Theirs a serial number break at 23978 and 23979 .You have the e-30 kit the e-29 doesnt show that seal.

I really am at a loss on this guys. The o-ring is too small to fit inside the adapter housing, so it must go on the shaft. And the illustration shows it on the injection pump side of the seals, so it has to be installed on the shaft after the shaft is installed in the adapter housing. But there are no grooves on the shaft and no where that it seems fesible to install and o-ring. I'm considering just putting it back together like it was, with no oring, but then I'm wondering if thats why I had fuel in the crankcase to begin with. But then I wonder, if the first of the two seals hold the fuel back, then what is this oring for anyway? If anyone could shed some light on where this oring is supposed to go or what its for, I would really appreciate it.

Sorry I can't help you with that o-ring. I'd suggest calling your nearest IH dealer and talking with the service manager. Most are happy to answer simple questions.
