I checked everything and found by accident that I had a faulty key switch. Fixed and it started on the first revolution. Ran it for about 30 mins and found one small leak. Question: How do I check oil level in rear end and pto and where do i add oil. I seem to hear excessive noise from rear end. On top of transmission and pto there is a round plug with square hole (half inch maybe) is this where you add oil? Here is a picture of tractor after we got it started. Thanks for the help. SWM

My Super A has a really loud transmission. Really growls. Been that way for fourteen years or more.

Check the oil in the final drives too. Same size plug as in the top of the transmission case. Fill until it runs out the filler hole.

The round plug on top is where you fill it. Once you get it filled to the fill level plug on the side, get a yard stick or some other stick to make yourself a dip stick. Pick a spot among the gears to touch the bottom of the case. Then mark it and measure it. Do it on level ground. No more pulling that plug and dribbling oil down the side of the case anymore to check it.

Stan: That fill to level plug, just below front tip of left fender, usually hidden behind brake activation rod.
