There is a post in the archives that mentions that the bar style 656 grill started on the later 656 at the same time that the Hydro's became available. Is this the case? I took a brief look at a 656D; SN 22718 (which correlates to a '67). It was a hydro but had the 706 style grill. Did the bar style grill actually start at the same time as the hydro's or am I looking at something that's been pieced together?

My brothers 1965 656, and my 1965 706, both have mesh grills.

My grandpa bought one of the very first Hydro 656's in 1967. It had the 706-style grille.

I'm still trying to id my tractor. I believe it may be a 2656 or 2606. It is an Industrial with a cast iron radiator frame with headlights in the cast iron frame and it says industrial right there. The grill bolted on is cast iron plate with about 1' round holes in it. Does that ring a bell to anyone?

1967 was the last year for all 06 type grills except the 140. It has nothing to do with hydro, rather all about model change near the end of 67.

I have no idea what year or serial number our 656 was, but it was a gas hydro and had the bar style grille.
