How much power will I gain by changing my W9 to Gas? It came out on LP and has hi dome pistons.

Don't do it!!!

It would be a relatively uncommon machine if it's factory propane.

You would have more power due to the greater compression ratio, but you be cornered into using high octane gasoline. The problem is that 93 pump gas may not be enough (propane is something like 100 to 104 octane) and the only way to find out is to try it and if it doesn't work then what? You've already spent the money.

Just use a higher octane fuel than regular 87.

I worked on IH trucks and tractors in the mid 60s and if they came from the factory with propane it was not advisable to go to gas with those engines because they have different pistons in them than would have come in gas burners. The propane is less volitle that gas and if you convert to gas the higher compression will cause pre-ignition or detonation and can melt the top out of the pistons unless high octane fuel is used and the ignition timing is delayed drastically.
