If you are asking if a 1066 clutch housing will fit in a 986 the answer is no unless you have a very late model 1066. All but the last ones did not have the provision for the 86 series cab mounts. 86 series housings will work on the 66 series but usually nor the other way around.

The bolt pattern from engine to bell housing is the same.
However, everything on top is different from one to the other. The steering column, instrument cluster, operator's platform, etc. are very different.

Your path of least resistance will be an engine swap. Just take the good engine and put it in the tractor with the good transmission. It'll bolt right up like nobody's business, and you won't have to futz with trying to figure out which parts need to be changed.

The clutch is bigger on the 1066 and itīs another flywheel, but it will bolt up.

You'd sure think so. They are pretty much the same tractor in that department, aren't they?
