F-30 woes and questions - Long post

Worked the entire day after being told that there was an IH rebuild kit in boxes sitting on the hitch of the tractor, dug the tractor out of the shed and found another set of pistons that appear unusable due to rust. I think these are the supposedly new ones. No rebuild kit. Literally sifting through 6" of dried manure and other trash on the floor yielded 7 out of the 8 pushrods and the round side engine covers. Oil pan and valve cover rusted completely through (whole sides) and unusable. After making a few calls Friday, I've found that new internal engine parts, probably aren't available or unaffordable if they are. In all fairness, I have to wait until tomorrow to try the places you guys suggested in response to my post 2 days ago.

I'm beginning to wish I'd never seen this tractor. What are rear the F & H roundspokes worth? Is there anything else - foot brake setup, belt pulley, etc. that might be worth anything?

Sorry to whine but I'm pretty low on this whole deal at the moment.

Parts are around for that. I've had bad pans on quite a few complete tractors. I'm parting out a couple right now.

I would try to clean up those pistons by using electrolysis.

30's are hard to find. It'll be worth the rebild. There are several sites where people took F series out of the weeds and restored them. Parts are out there.

Dont be too discouraged. Youd be suprised how well alot of those parts will clean up. Cost wise its always better to try and clean what you have before you go to get new or used replacement parts.

As for the oil pan, valve cover etc. Id say talk to Howard (Nebraska Cowman) if you havent already. He has a seemingly infinite supply of parts for those relics.

Farm boy don't get discouraged,Motor parts from a MC 10-20 will fit.F30 are getting very expensive. On sold at a auction that ran brought 5000.00 dollars.Besides the motor and clutch every thing else is indestructable. Finding parts is part of the game
