I bought a H with the serial # ending with XIL which according to the Farmall serial # makes this tractor a low gear tractor. I have seen serial # ending in XIN which makes this tractor a low low gear tractor. I was wondering if there is a difference between the two gears speeds.

D Slater is correct, as is georgeky. Small clarification, low and low low are the same, that is there is only one set of low speed gears.

So what kind of value do you think this kind of tractor has?

I don't really know. A guess is to add $500 to what a normal geared tractor would bring. Makes a $1500 tractor worth $2000. This is only my way of thinking, which is often wrong.

X1N is everything George said about X1L with the only differance being the X1N originaly was 8000 foot equiped.

My chart don't show an N in the suffixes. It does show that X1L is for 5000 foot pistons, 7 mpg 4th gear and low low gear. It is fairly rare arrangement.
