I was at my nearest tractor shop just looking around at what he had out back.

I saw this tractor and the owner told me he had put many an hour on that piece of iron. I don’t know if it runs or not but I thought you all might like the picture. I never knew that Farmall were made that big.

I just bought a couple of 560 D and am interested in knowing the codes on the serial tag. Can anyone help me find a reference, book ?
Trying to remember the codes, I think there were C"s D and S but do not have the card with me on which I wrote the Serial# and codes.

Sunspot: In it's day the 560 was the largest Farmall made, however the next series of models that followed in the mid 60s make the 560 a kitten. 560 was roughly 62 hp, and the 06 series that followed went to roughly 115 hp (1206), and by 1975 the largest was close to 160 hp (1566).

By 1965 the 560 was closer to the Cub than the largest Farmall. I'm not trying to put the 560 down, they were a good tractor. Early ones had some rear end problems, but that got corrected by IH. I farmed with 560D and the later 656D, basically the same tractor power train. Of the 16 new Farmalls that came to our place, those two were the most economical hp we had. Each of them went 10,000 hours before needing any major repairs and turned out 60 plus hp on 1 to 2 gallons of fuel per hour depending on the work. Compared to my 120 hp 1066 that I've seen drink up 10 gallons per hour the 560 and 656 looked damn good.

Looks good. Great old tractors.
Any idea if it might be for sale? If so, where is it located?
Thanks
Wayne
