My genny isn't so I have disassembled/cleaned it and need to get finer grained emery cloth to clean things up. Also need to replace rounded-head long genny bolt. Then, get some archive reading to check on what makes these things tick and why not mine. So...while making connections shiny, bright and tight I figured it a good time to replace all the gauges as none are IH. Thus my ? is: what was the correct color for the 340 dash and throttle control lever along with the little bolts and lock washers for the panel. 2:33 p.m. central daylight savings time and me thinks it is breakfast time. Thanks in advance for any input and I will check in later. As they say in the southern part of Norway...'ya'll enjoy ur day den'

IH switched from Gun Metal Grey to Satin Black paint on the dash panels in June 1960. Check your serial number and paint it accordingly.

Early models were "gunmetal gray", which I interpret to be sort of a silver-gray color. Later models were satin black. I painted my 1958 460 dash sort of a silver color, not saying it is correct. I do not know what year the change occurred.

I don't know what is correct, but I painted mine white like the rest of the trim.
