I guess I went off the deep end yesterday. I bought a FORD 8N I think? Had to pull it home about four miles. Told my brother not to get over 15 MPH. He said after the wild ride he never got over 25 but was watching the expressions on my face through the rear view mirror. Heck, My face was frozen at 16 MPH!!!! OLD caught me on the 8N forum last night so I thought I may as well fess up. David.

Got It running today. Main problem was the key switch was bad. Still needs a little TLC to get it running smooth. David.

Plenty of them sold in paper ads, at auctions, and still in use here in NC. I have never owned one, but I have spent many hours on them while helping neighbors. They are good solid machines. Don't ask them to do more than they are able.

Got caught ehh? Nothing wrong with the red and grey and they don't take up much room. I was the second owner of a '47 2N and that was a little cutie. I think the manual stated 8 mph was top speed when running and clutch engaged. Enjoy it.

Shoot nothing wrong with adding more color to the herd. If I just stuck with one color I wouldn't have all that many tractors.

Though the small things that I don't like about them are just that, small. They are really reliable and fine tractors with ease of repair. (quick hard steering, no live PTO or Hydro, no down force on hitch (I know 3pt doesn't) and modest power). You will like it. JimN

Congrats on your new Ford. My sister has an 8n that we use on her farm for mowing, mucking out the buildings using the rear blade, etc. Very good machines.
