should I trade my W-6 for a decent M?
as the M I think would be alot better in the long run than a W-6?
Im going back, & forth with this,
If i get an M, and let the 6 go?
then I feel like Im losing out,
but really Im not,
Ive went over, and over this, and it seem's the right thing to do,
i like the M's higher stance, and ALOT MORE COMFY STYLE,and closer to the pedal's too and the shifter is there where you want it too,
If I could find an M that was in decent cond?
then id trade the 6 for it,
Im In N Ks, below franklin NE about 60 Mi,s
Ive seen M's around here, But alot of them are in bad shape, and need attention,
But,,,, nevertheless, they are a cool tractor,
I got this 6 on impulse, and I thought I would like it, as I thought I liked platform style tractor's,
But now I see the difference,

I agree with jim. Fix the 6 first and you will gain some real experience that may come in handy on some future projects. I have made a point to help out some local guys when they are restoring old tractors and such. Hands on experience costs a lot of folks big bucks at trade schools.

Kirk, We care for you and your projects, in my view if you fix the issues with the 6 that you have been "discussing" but not doing, the 6 will either take on a whole new personality, or you will have trading stock for an M. If you want a clean usable M, you will need to have a clean usable 6 to trade--even then it might be a money to boot deal. From you to them. JimN

Hi jim
Is there anyone that you know that redoes hyd pump's,
Mine need's to come off, and then it need's a seal in it,
when i took the loader off the new owner capped off the line's to the res tank, in back,
so the fluid didnt have anywhere to flow to, and I think it went into the sump thru ther pump, so now Ive got to get that pump off and see if it's ok, and then put line's on the back tank so fluid will flow so i dont have this problem again,
Im gonna need a complete front end on this thing too,
cutting the weld's off the part's that are messed up, will work, but it will look like crap,
so I need a front end for this thing,
or Ill just let it go like it is, and just fix the pump, and be done with it, so long as it run's good is all I care about,
then Ill let it go to a person that want's a 6, and he'll be happy and so will I,

Kirk, I don"t understand why you keep bringing up the problems with the W-6. I have seen your tractor first hand and it"s in pretty good shape for it"s age. Your neighbor has the parts you need to replace the ones that you feel are not up to par. With a little effort and patience, the tractor could be done completly in 2 to 3 months. The first step is convincing yourself you CAN do it. Order the parts and service books for it, and enjoy the time you spend while fixing a nice tractor such as yours. JMHO. As far as the M goes, I grew up around and on them. I prefer the W series.

Hi chuck, Yea I know Im kinda disgusted at it,
i know carl has thehood there in his yard,
I think im gonna get new wiring for it chuck, as that junk that's on there is realy bad,
Im gonna get a return line for the res tank, and get that pump off, and get it redone,if it's bad which I hope it isnt?
all the welding junk on front end like that power steering junk?
it all goes in trash, and then get a drag link, and the other part's, and start putting her back together,
chuck, I called taylor supply yesaterday, and they said get the pump off and bring it over to them , and they'd look at it, and put a seal in it,
dont touch the distributor cam, just take it off where it is, and bring it up to them so they can see it, I want it stock looking , W/ the hyd piece's too, so that's why i was waiting on it chuck to redo it, Im just glad your's wasnt like this one with a bad hood, and all jury rigged all over it,
Kep in touch ok,
Im wanting to go get this Minnie type S, combine to up in wy where I got it about 5 month's ago,
it's all there and you can see it chuck if you go to the MM picture area on here ok?
It's still got all the yellow paint on it, and it's not stuck,
I need a trailer to go get it, so Im asking around here to find a person to help me,
take it Easy ok,
kirk,
