Thank you very much for you reply. I did polarize the generator. One wire connects to the "Bat" terminal. Where would the second wire connect to? The "l" terminal is the only terminal not being used. Terminals "A" and "F" are connected from the voltage regulator to the generator. The "bat" terminal is connected correctly, I believe. My manual does not have a diagram that shows the wiring for a Farmall H with a distributor; however, it does show the wiring diagram for the Farmall H with a magneto. Where would I connect the second wire to? The only opening left is the "L" terminal. What is the "L" terminal used for? Any suggestions you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

You will need a different sw for the dist. One side of the new sw will go to battery voltage and other wire from sw to the dist. Your new sw needs two posts. Your old sw just had one post and the sw was grounded so when you pushed the sw in it grounded out the mag. Your regulator is not original so any wiring dia mite not show all the connections as original did not have a post for the lites as they were controlled by the lite sw on the steering post where the ammeter is located.

Go to the link that Yugrotcart sent you. Those are good wiring diagrams.

Surf through "Bob M's" diagram for the one you need. "L" would be for lights.
