I have a 1952 Farmall c that set for about 8 years without running. I finall got it to run this summer. I rebuilt the carb put in new points and condenser and plugs. It misses periodically and appears to run to rich. It seems to rev up and idle down pretty good. When I adjust the needle valve on the carb nothing seems to change.
I don't know if it simply after setting for so long need to be run hard to clean the system, if I have valves not seating proper or if something else is wrong any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated. Also, one of the hydraulic control levers is so rusted it won't move any ideas about how to free it up. I have been spraying it with lubricate

I agree with Rusty no adjustment means you didn't get the carb clean enough and theres some dirt etc in the jet still or the passage ways

also check tube thru center of air cleaner. wasp or mud dobber nests or just plain dirty can cause engine to run rich.

If the adjusting needle has no effect, the carb is not clean. Period. Try again.
