Thanks so much, I had a small toggle switch from which I ran a 16 ga wire to the L terminal. With the engine about 1/4 throttle I have 14.3 volts at the bat terminal on the alternator. Is this an OK setup or should I replace the switch with a bulb or resistor? Thanks again. Sonny

I went the diode route. Works great! Might look neater but the switch is functional so why change?

Automation is best, the light is nice because it is an idiot light and will tattle on the alt. not working. The diode is nice in that it leaves the tractor looking "normal". The banded end of the diode goes to the alt side, not switch. JimN
