Recently looked at a 74 1066 with factory FWA, Can someone tell me if there"s an after market kit to improve the steering, to allow the tractor to turn tighter ? Or is this just the way it is ? I"d also like to know what these tractors were used for with such a large turning radius ?

We Have a 1066 and 1086 4x4,
And the turning radius has only been a problem a few times, we feel the 4x4 realy makes up for the poor turning radius, Guess once we ran them long enough we became used to the turning radius.

Can't help ya with the kit to make it turn shorter, but around these parts those 4x4 tractors were(and are) a huge help feeding hay to cattle in deep snow, pulling 6 ton haystacks.

We feed big round bales now, with 5 of 'em on a bale processor at a time, and sure wouldn't want to go back to a chained up 2wd tractor to do it with.
