while working on my 350 U trying to get the hydraulics working again ,i decided to try to put some air preasure into the hydraulic resivour and discoverd that they will work when i apply preasure to the tank, maybe 10 too 25 pounds is all it took ,does this verify that i need to remove the top and clean the screen or perhaps is either the safety or regulater valve stuck or faulty ?? I dont understand how those work in the system .also is the Gasket for the hydraulic resivour cover still available ??

Dave, I think you have to lift the top and clean the screen. BE CAREFUL it is HEAVY. By putting the air pressure in the reservoir you are forcing the hydraulic oil thru the screen into the suction line.

The gasket can be replaced by a thin swipe of blue RTV silicone sealer. The pressure is probably reducing the size of an air bubble in the system so that fluid can get past it to the pump. If it were mine, I would put the front lower than the back by about 3 ft and see if I could get it to prime. It may be in the steel tubes where they bolt to the resivoir. Good luck, JimN
