I've got three Super M code suffixes to decipher. NJ, ES and AJ. Any ideas?

J- tractor came equiped with a rockford clutch. N- LP gas equiped for 2500 feet and up . A- came equiped able to burn distillate gas. E- 8000 feet high altitude attachment. S- torque amplifier with provision for independent power take off. Does the one with ES have a serial # 60001 or higher and would it happen to be propane fueled?

I'll have to look again at the SN. What would it mean one way or the other? The ES is in fact propane fueled, but it doesn't look factory. The tank is mounted different from the factory ones I've seen. The NJ looks factory correct for propane- has the cool manifold and propane carb.

Think the one with ES would be a Super MTA. Don't think S was used for anything on a regular SM. SMTA started at tractor serial # 60001 and went to 83523. With the 8000 feet attachment the compression is raised to run better with the LP gas. IH sent some SMTA tractors to a company in Texas to add LP on. Some of them were shipped with the high altitude pistons and a high percent stayed in Texas or the south. Your handle sounds like your from Texas, so I was just putting two and two togeather to ask about the LP. N is correct for a factory SM LP .
