I am trying to unstick the clutch on a 1925 Farmall Regular. It has a 5 disc clutch but I can't figure out how to remove it. I have the cover off of the clutch and the pressure plate engages and disengages fine. It appears that the individual clutches are stuck together. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Thank you so much Jimmy and Kevin. I am guessing from your comments that the shaft and the clutch are supposed to come off as a unit. I think that is what confused me. The shaft was still in and I couldn"t figure out how you would get the clutch out while the shaft was there. I"m on vacation for the next few days but now I can"t wait to get home and try to get it out! Thanks again for all your help. Jimmy thank you for the phone number I still might have to take you up on that offer.

Talk to you later.

My experience is similar to Jimmy's. The service manual says the clutch cover and clutch come out as a unit. I was able to remove the cover to access the clutch itself. A wire brush in grinder to remove rust on the 3 large guide / drive pins & liberal amounts of WD40/PB Blaster etc. Carefully pry to remove the clutch. Phew do the old mouse nests stink!

I drilled out the lining rivets, carefully pryed off the linings removed rust from driven and driving plates & reassembled. Works OK for a tractor that will never get more than 1 hour running / year.

Good luck. kevin

Barry,As far as I am concerend its the best clutch there is.My regular was stuck bad we pryed them apart and sand blasted each plate. The front plate actually acts as a brake that stops the motion of the transmission.I had mine relined and it works as a brake for the tractor.I beleive you can replace it with a new style clutch and pressure plate. These clutches were designed to out last the tractor

Jimmy, I'm really glad to here all is not lost with the clutch being stuck. I can't figure out how the clutches come out? Do you know if the procedure for removal is in the Regular service manual? I just need a hint on how to get this thing out then I can clean them up. I would like to keep it original if possible.

Thanks for help.

Barry
