I have a 504 International utility with a three-point hitch. Is there some kind of stabilizer arm kit available or some means of holding the three-point arms from swinging back and fourth with my brush hog on it? I would very much like to keep it centered behind the tractor for side hill use. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Somebody get a new toy? Must have been influenced by those pesty neighbors down the road. P.S. How are the valves?

See it at plowdays.

Yea Nathan, the neighbors are a problem, but maybe they are steering me in the right direction. I will never turn my back on the old Fords but this one does make me see Red. I have used it to cut the field and to do some work with the back blade. It sure is a handy little beast. Live PTO, Live hydraulics, Good TA, Hydrostatic power steering, three-point hitch. What more could a guy want? It's a 1964. Now that the super M is done I think this one will have to wait until next year for some paint. One a year is enough for me. I think it should pull the plow without new paint just fine!!! Seeeee Yaw. PS ( Hi Kerri )

There is a stabilizer kit for that tractor, but I expect it is expensive. They can be made quite easily. Use a piece of channel iron that hangs down from axle the same as the lift arm mount and attach mounting pins to it. The stabilizer itself can be made from a 1 inch water pipe with the ends hammered flat and holes bored in it. For a more detailed plan for this just email me and I will send you some dimensions and pics.

Hi georgeky
That sounds like something I could easily make myself. If it isn't too much trouble I would really appreciate some dimensions and pictures. I had the back blade on it today and it was real frustrating with it swinging around and not staying centered behind the tractor. I just got the tractor two weeks ago and it is the best little utility I have ever owned.

MY IH 2444/444 has both turn buckles on the inside of the lower arms and adjustable bracingstraps on the outside of the lower arms.

I'm not familiar with the 504, but the online parts book shows an adjustable rod for cat 1. Go to www.caseih.com and type in 504 in the parts search, as the site won't let me transfer the diagram. There are both cat 1 and 2 diagrams. Once you look at the diagram, you should be able to fabricate something. Easiest way would be a couple of chains and turnbuckles if you can't find the OEM parts.
