How many of you watched the steam powered sawmill show this evening? I thought it was way more interesting than all those horse shows.

Free!!! saw mill. in reply to teddy52food, 07-26-2007 20:50:32
There is a free saw mill in the classified ads to the left. The guy wants to donate it to a tractor club. Someone should snap it up!

I was really disappointed when i saw there were no tractors BUT i watched it and was not dissappointed at all. It was very interesting and much more so than a tractor drive. I tune in for tractor show and tractor talk films, but the best way to watch a drive is in person or to be in it in my opinion.

I agree but do you suppose on the horse forums they are saying they preferred it to the tractor and train programs.

i got it on my dvr! i give it a 8 out of ten scale. i NEVER GIVE ANYTHING A TEN so ya it was real good. went right to sleep after a very painful 48 hours of hard painful work. My wife watched the whole thing why we lay in our MN country brick home and went to a place i would like to go some day! i loved the wood pully made by a mill right. thats was made "out of need and low budget but yet awesome and if it were ever to bresk it belonges on display somewhere others can drift to a diffrent mellow state of mind, good for everyone to watch my kids will watch it tonight. they will love it. it will be burned on my dvr till it pukes and i will have back up copys made. When i was in my early twentys i Was part of a 4 man team of rail Scrappers. i had to cut miles of rail at the clips instead of un bolting them. then the rail it loaded on truck and brolen down into 2 foot chunks and recycled. I put in many days and long long hours in SHORUME RAIL yard Still operated by CP RAIL ANd SOO LINE. I Also got to cut up and old "electro motive" sad but fun at the time paid honest salery. we saved all the switches and ties and frogs and all the swapping material. Also picked up "OTM" old track metel witch is in a catogory of its own. its all the clips and spikes made of steel and if very heavy. I would have to pick them up Bend and scoop the "hard way" with a cat loader and my HANDS all alone. would toss the otm in the bucket and went full drive the loader to the dumpster and fill it up. well i could go on and on but ya lotfs of calming thoughts. sorry for my "brain drifting" Jonnny 2006"

Ya , I watched it , that was a real operation . I got a kick outa those highboy lumber haulers . There was alot of good old hard work goin on there ! It was for sure better than all the horse shows but it was better than Max Armstrong to . I watch him to see the tractors but I think sombody put to much starch in his shorts !! It`s all about money and the horse people will pay it . I talked to RFD a few yrs. ago and it cost $150,000 a show to put on the air , ya wont find to many AG sponsers to pitch in that kind of money . The sawmill show will be on again sun. night for anyone that wants to see it .

Well, I did not watch RFD tonight, been watching the History Channel, but I will definitely agree with you, a steam powered sawmill has got to be a LOT more interesting than all of the horse shows they have on there.
