I got a 54 Super H that came with this on it. The tool box is in great shape no rust holes and the wood bottom is in great shape. This is the first one i have seen in this good of condition. What is the easyest way to sand blast it with out messing up the wood?

Nope not yet, all i got done is the new tires all the way around, been to busy making hay, then after that comes the fixing. I got started on My SMTA tho that is all sand blasted and all new tires. Just needs paint.

I think I may have seen one of those on a horse drawn mowing machine. the loop on the side is for the oil can.

Duct tape will protect the wood/

Sand blasting will definately mess up wood. You can protect it with a piece of rubber...a cut up inner tube works fine.

I have one of those on my shelf that I picked up at a flea market. Any ideas on what it is worth?

Randy, while those tool boxes are quite interesting, there are way too many of them out there for them to have any real value. Somewhere around $20 or less, probably less.

Thanks Rusty, I think I paid $5 for it last year, so maybe it will be worth more in another 25 years ; )

What is the circle thing on the side for? I think that it might have been for holding a grease gun.

I always thought the circle next to the tool box was to hold an oil(squirt)can.

The box is off an old impliment like a binder or something. I don't think the sandblasting will hurt the wood as much as you think. But the botton is just held in with nails. It wouldn't be hard to remove.
