Hello all,
I'm sneaking over here from the Ford boards.
A friend's FIL has an older C that is just sitting in the shed. He asked me to have a look at it with an eye to knowing it's value.
I don't know much about Farmalls but I like all the old iron so we had a looksee any way.
Tin looked good - one bump in the grill, older paint, nice decals. Tires hold air but checked bad. It does have hydraulics on it.
I found a tag, the serial # was 7734 - don't hold me to that #. Had the right angle drive off the pto for a belt pulley but no pulley. Was told it ran but didn't try to start it. (cold here) It had quite a bit of wetness under the tranny but the sediment bowl was leaking so it might have been that rather than a seal. It wasn't a bad looking old tractor all in all. It had a 6' Woods belly mower kind of cobbled under it. It sure looked TALL compared to my little Fords. I know it aint much to go on but is there a range of prices that a guy could give him some idea what it worth?
Thanks for any and all replys.

I'd scoop it up. I have a C that except for a clutch about 25 years ago is mechanically original. It runs and drives great and has never let us down.

Thanks guys,
So I take it these little Cs are worth quite a bit more than the old Hs and Ms?
Makes sense I guess. Hey Old, I read about all your trials and tribulations down there and wondered about you.
Glad to see you back on the boards.
Jerry

Maybe, but a nice H with a belly mower or other equipment would be about the same price.

Oh?
It seems I see Hs go for a lot less around here.
Like a good running H in work clothes can be had for $1000 - $1200. I tell guys that want to put in deer plots to get an old H or an AC WD since they are great old tractors but don't have the yuppified value of the little Fords and Fergies.

In my area coomon price for one is $1000-1500 in good running shape and in its work cloths. Now of course tires if all that bad will take aways from the price and how good or bad it might run will also. Pretty much the same as with a ford same things apply

It's all about condition. Prices will be very similar to the Fords that you are familiar with. Anywhere from maybe $200 for basic junk up to $2,500 and higher for one that is ready to go to work.
