I purchased a Farmall C tractor this past fall.
Tractor has 2 fuel tanks. One samll tank for gas to start engine with and large tank for tractor fuel. I can't fine any info on how many of these were made. Does anybody know where I can look to find out this info?

I think the answer is "not many", or only a small percentage of overall production. I have no proof of that. But, the 1st year of C production, 1948, was the a couple of years after WWII, when gas was in short supply. I don't remember my dad using anything other than gas during that period, in fact I think he used gas during WWII also. My dad had a prewar and a postwar B, and a prewar and a postwar H. I don't remember starting tanks on either of them. However kerosene or distillate tractors were built by IH until about 1958.

Doug,
I just looked in Guy Fay's tractor data book. There is no breakdown as to the number of distilate tractors made. Not sure if that data exists.
