Does anyone know where I can find parts (or at least the parts manual) for our McCormick 7 foot sickle bar mower - that is attached to our Super C? There is a "L" shaped "pipe" bar about three feet long that is bent. (hit a large field stone with the end of the bar, and it bent the bar - now the blade is canted back, enough that the pitman arm doesn't run true, and the flex plate breaks)I'm concerned that if I heat and bend the bar into shape - that it will lose temper and not be correct..... That's if I can get it bent back correctly . A hear ago I posted this same question and I got a few leads on some used mowers to use for parts, but I wasn't able to make the trip at the time to get them. Our Super C is in NW PA.
Thanks Mark

Hi Mark, here is how the man that ran a welding shop near us would solve your bent pipe.
Anything that heavy he would not heat to straighten but would take the cutting torch and make a cut 1/2 to 3/4 the way across from the side that you have to bend inward to straighten. Then bend the pipe until it is straight again this should close the cut made by the cutting torch now take your favourite electric welder and weld the cut closed. Far easier than heating a heavy piece of pipe and trying to get it straight.

That pipe can be straigtened I have done to mine twice in 31 years and have mowed hundreds of acres of hay with it and it is still going.

Thanks Berry. Any advice? Is the pipe a solid bar or hollow. Did you use a torch to heat it up? Did you straighten it in place, or take it off? Mine is bent backwards, about 6 inches from the end of the long side of the "L", near the mower shoe. I have a photo of it, but I don"t know how to post it here. thanks again
Mark
