Hi Folks, Yep Im still working on the engine of my M. Haven't had a whole lotta time on my hands, we just had a major ice storm go through and I finally haven't been called out yet today. Well ne ways, i have made my self a sleeve puller and it worked on all but one. It must be stuck bad, I bent my heavy duty puller and now I made a sleeve pusher and use my bottle jack to pust its not budging. Im afraid im gonna lift the front wheels off the ground!! Any ideas on what I can do to free It up?

Happy New Year Derek

USE A HEAVY AND SUITABLE PULLER FOR THE JOB. I HAVE NOT HAD ANY THAT I COULD NOT REMOVE.

My grandpa was a service mechanic for 45 years. He always said to put dry ice in the cylinder if the sleeve was stuck. To get the new ones back, put them in the freezer overnight and then they will just slide right in!

You need to jump over to Page 9 on his forum and take a look at kfox's puller. Rexalot has posted
a picture of it for him. I think that will pull it. Hal

Bent your puller? You need at least a 3/4 pull rod, 7/8 is better. When you pull the rod in two you know they are coming hard. You havn't tried yet.

If the piston is still in it, u might be able to throw some dry ice in there. It should cause the sleeve to shrink and might break it free. I read this tip on this forum, but it was to remove the piston from the seeve, this might work on a sleeve stuck in the block as well. Good luck and keep up updated on how it finally does come out...
It might help others in the future.

run half a dozen light beads of weld up the lenght of the sleeve. the sleeve should come out easily.

By lifting the front wheels off the ground won't get enough pressure to remove a stuck sleeve. Get a good puck & pull it up with the right puller.

on the really tight ones, most people heat em with a torch but be real sure no gas is open anywhere. RP
