Gene would not the oilslinger be spinning (thrashing around) only when the input shaft was turning? From what I'm reading, it makes noise when in gear and clutch down. Also has difficulty slowing trans while clutch is down. (Just thinking out loud), JimN

I have been thinking about the H noise some more and will add to the previous post that the Pilot bearng in the flywheel is also a high level suspect if the noise goes away with the trans in N and the clutch either in out, but is there with the clutch in with the trans in gear. The pilot bearing only spins when the clutch is is, and the shaft is not turning. JimN

If the noise stops when you take it out of gear, and the clutch is let out then the only thing is the TO bearing. If it stops making noise even when the clutch is in and it is out of gear, the springs and components of the driven disk in the clutch may be out to lunch. The drive hub and tortion springs may be falling apart. Which happens:
Stops when out of gear clutch out
Stops when out of gear clutch in

Sounds like a throw out bearing. Is it safe to say the noise is not happening when the clutch is all the way released (foot off the pedal)? If so I believe it may be the TO bearing, or fingers on the Pressure plate. Tell us more, what is the free play like, should be about an inch. JimN
