I have the more common farmall brackets to mount my 45 loader (H, M, SM, SH, 300, 350). The 400/450 brackets had plates to space the channel away from the axle mounting plate.

Does anyone have a set of these to sell or at least tell me how far ahead Deere moved the channel?

Thanks,

Farmer Jack if this will help a 400 is 5 inches longer than a M or SM give or take 1/8 inch from axle to rear of frame rails on side of engine. Frame rails on M and 400 are the same length, but front of bolster on 400 will be about 1 and 1/2 longer in front of frame rails than than a M or SM gas tractor. H,SH,300,350 are all the same length from axle to frame rails but 300 and 350 frame rails are 3 inches longer than H ,SH rails.

You need to compensate for the 9 inches of extra length that the torque adds to the 400's length.
The 350 setup should work.

Have you tried it using the 350 brackets? I think it will work.

I haven't tried the more common farmall brackets. I assumed that there is a reason Deere moved it forward. there is a 3 -4 inch difference in wheel base which I am thinking is what they offset, but I would like to verify that prior to converting my brackets.

The Farmall Hs and Ms were the same length, and equally share mounted implements, including loaders. The 300 through 450 tractors were longer due to the TA, but once again were designed to equally share mounted implements, so if you have the adapter bracket for the 350, it will also work on your 450.
