I have a Farmall 560 gas, and my dad was using it the other day and he said it just stopped running on him. I was home briefly today so I checked it out but didn"t have alot of time to work on it. It turns over fine, I flushed the fuel line and fuel bowl and the carb is getting fuel, the fuel runs through the drain plug when I open it, it has spark at all spark plugs, but just will not fire. I"m assuming it"s a carb related problem and was wondering if anyone had experienced something like this.

I'll be home tomorrow to work on it, and I'll try some of these ideas and see if I can get her running. I need it to shuttle gravity wagons since we are picking corn. Thanks for all the help

The proper fuel was always put into it, usually in large quantities since its a 560. Standing on the distributor side of the tractor i assume the #1 cylinder is the furthest to the left? I'm used to working on JD's.

On most engines the #1 cyl is toward the front of the unit, non drive/clutch end. IH is the same radiator is closest to #1. Keep your plug wires on to keep from mixing them up. JimN

Put a single squirt of gasoline in each cylinder from a squirt oil can filled with good gasoline. Put the plugs back in and try it. if it runs for a second or two on that fuel thin quits, it is fuel related. If it has a fuel shutoff solenoid on the carb, make sure that is operating when the key is on. If it doesn't fire with fuel in the cylinders, El Toro is probably correct. All the sparkplugs usually do not go bad at the same time unless contaminated with some spray or bad fuel.
Another thought; Was any different fuel put in it just before it stopped? JimN

I would install a new set of plugs. If it still won't start bring No1 piston to TDC on the compression stroke and the timing mark is aligned with the pointer. Then remove the distributor cap and see where the rotor is pointing. It should be at the No1 plug tower. If its way off
you may have jumped timing. Hal
