Whenever I try starting up the 1950 WD-6 i need to crank it a long time and when it fires up I can never run it without the choke fully out. When i try pushing it in it slows down like it's running out of gas. What could be causing these symptoms. Thanks Alot

As well as fuel delivery (tank, screen, carb, etc.) make sure that there is no air leakage. When you get her runnin on gas spray a little DD 40 or similar product around the intake manifold. If she picks up, you"d need new gaskets.

Before you tear into the carb, check the starting linkage adjustments. There's a cam in the carburetor that holds the float valve in the closed position when running on diesel. If it isn't turning far enough, it may not be allowing sufficient fuel into the float chamber.

sounds like the primary circuit of the carb is plugged.
