Hello Steven I've though hard about belt drive... in fact I even planning to shaft it back along side the block and tuck the pump in almost entirely under the gas tank. In fact I've built most of it... but still need keyways cut. Most of those style pump bearing are not designed for lateral loads only axialary... This way a bearing block and rollers are carrying the belts lateral forces. I never did figure out a good way to attach a second seive to the original "crank pulley". Did you weld that one? I looked at a original that was already off... just didnt seam heavy enough to be cast steel... thought it iron... which makes it hard to weld. Maybe I was wrong on this????? I've also thought of a way to hard mount the pump's drive (shaft) pulley in line with the water pump... and use the water pump variable as the tightener. But then you have a three point belt system with only 1/3 diameter contact area on any one sieve. Since this is a high load, high tensioned belt though I'd be asking for trouble with slipage and on the water pump's bearing... so didn't do that. With the pump back and low and a box type resevior under the seat using a super H seat frame, it would make a clean installation. Just havn't figured out a good way to drive it... even looked into a cogged belt... but not enough clearance in front of the original crank pully to add a 1" wide cogged belt (pulley is about 1.25"). Even thought about modifying the waterpump shaft for cog... but its bearing is still the limiter there. So.. as yet... its not finished. Just a pile of unused parts. What ever I do I'll take pictures. But I'd like to know more about what you did on the crank pulley modification. Thanks Dave Hillsboro, OH
