Simple question looking for a simple answer I think. I have read the operator's manual for my 1066. Is the T/A in High when it is pushed away from the operator or is it in Low when pushed away from the operator? In other words, do I get "more torque" when the lever is away from the operator or pulled toward the operator?

The TA is in high when pushed forward.

Michael has it. More torque (back position) will use the same horsepower over a longer time. Thus slowing the wheels about 35%. JimN

More torque when closest to the operator.

Thanks guys, that's how I read the owner's manual, but wanted to confirm as a buddy of mine told me the opposite.
