I have 2 heads for a farmall M and i olny have 1 M so im getting rid of 1 or 2 but i just wanted to ask how much a farmall M head would go for their both in good shape and have no cracks and what ever other problems it has none and they both have the vales in them, also would a 400 head fit on a M, and where is the casting number i was asked and did not know is it on the top or on the side. exactly, have they been magnafluxed? Simple operation. Most machine shops usally charge $30.00 or around that to do it. Shippping will really get you on one. so a buyer has to be leary. Specially if they pay $75.00 to $100.00 to get one shipped to them. I sold two last year for like $50. and $30. the $50.00 tested good the $30.00 did not. Its a hard sell. But if they are tested and good You can esally ask a couple hundred a piece.

The casting numbers are under the valve cover. They may take some wire brushing to be readable. The heads will interchange, but may have different volumes in the chamber, and thus a 400 head on an M may have less compression. The fact that a head is off of a running engine does not guarantee that it is uncracked, or "good" good heads have been cleaned and magnafluxed and pressure tested to assure soundness. I'm sure yours are probably good, but selling them as good is risky without some assurance that they are as advertized. As is heads are worth scrap price for the weight. Good luck, I hope I helped, JimN
