Hello, I just bought a Farmall H( Hedge row special)This is my first Farmall, my question has to do with the gear pattern for the transmission. On my other tractors it was castinto the housing near the shifter. I can not find it on this tractor. I know it has 5 forward and 1 reverse. Currently the tractor is not running. Junked Carb. It was full of water and froze. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks from a Allis Chamlers owner.

hedge row or not, good choice. reproduction manuals should be a must for every tractor owner that is un-farmilliar with a new toy. international had good manuals and gave you timing and adjusting information that is invaluable. good luck.

Your carburetor may not be junk. I have rebuilt several H carburetors that were removed from hedge row specials and had obviously been full of water. If the carb is not cracked or otherwise broken I can make it work again.

Only the very early H and M had the shift pattern cast in the lid. But the pattern is the same up through the 686 series.
