Hi,
I am starting a restoration project on my Farmall Super C. Last time it ran it would spit oil out through the valve cover vent, and the plugs would become fouled. It sat for two years in the woods. Plan on getting it into the garage tomorrow, if it will start. Plan on using this for my pulling tractor. All help will be greatly appreciated, thank you in advance.
Bob

Just Started on my Super C about 6 months ago. What year is yours? Mine is a 51 early production. Look forward to hearing about your restoration. BTW, sounds like you need a ring job at least. is it oil or gas fouling the plugs? Patrick

Patrick,
My Farmall also is a 1951. I started out with charging the battery, cleaning the electrical points of contact. Started to fill the gas tank and gas came out top of glass bowl. Gasket from NAPA to thin? Plan on making my own.

Can't tell you how much this forum means to me, though must say some of these guys intimidate me with their knowledge.

Get a whole new fuel bowl at either CaseIH or a nearby farm supply store. When I went to fire up mine, the screen was eroded and had clogged up the bowl assembly. Also there is a little screen filter in the elbow of the gasline at the carb. CHECK THAT!!! That was the source of my gas not getting to the carb. Hope that helps. Patrick

Whats your serial # Farmall Bob? Mine is 102834. Mine was a neighbors work tractor. Used it to bale hay. Definitely has a good governor: I heard it many days. Problem was after I bought it I had no time so 4 years later I am finally tearing into it. This site is definitely a confidence booster. If you get the chance, talk to Gene Bender. He has a lot of knowledge and many many helpful hints. Patrick

Hi Patrich,

Model FC- The serial number is 117356, Max idle speed 1815RPM. I removed the gas bowl assembly and you know what? there are several different sizes. No wonder it leaks when you order a gasket kit and it doesn't match up! Yes I probably will get a gas bowl assemble, but for now I just want to get it into the garage.

Please take lots and lots of pic of every step ou do, and journal as you go along. You can use that for a website down the road and it will help others as they do their own projects... and it's just darn interesting!
